- Role: A founding role on our first UK deployment team
- Schedule: 4+ days a week, shifts from 06:45
- Where: Projects across London and the UK
- Covered: Travel costs, workwear, gear and lunches
- Experience: None needed in construction, we train you
- Language: English speaking required
How your day looks
Every day is different, but a typical shift runs like this.
- 6:45 – 7:00: On site for standup. What’s getting built, what changed overnight, who’s on what.
- 7:00 – 11:30: Set up the platform, carry bricks and mortar to the robot, calibrate it and start laying bricks. Keep it supplied as work progresses.
- 11:30 – 12:00: Lunch on site, on us.
- 12:00 – 14:30: Continue building: replenish bricks and mortar, move equipment and solve problems with the robot as the wall goes up.
- 14:30 – 15:00: Tools down, site cleaned, robot prepped. Quick debrief for tomorrow.
- 15:00: Off site by three, with a building taller than when you arrived.
About Monumental
The UK does not have enough people to build the homes it needs, and the shortage of bricklayers keeps growing. This is a chance to help change the way we build, using the latest technology in the world, as one of the first operators on the ground in a brand new market.
Monumental is a high-tech startup founded in 2021. We are expanding from Amsterdam to London as our first international hub, with a team of engineers, operators and technicians from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, WaveOptics, Meta and Google DeepMind. Today our robots have already built real walls across the Netherlands and the UK.
